This collection of 40 essays presents the many facets of Islam and it’s doctrine in the context of today’s events from the perspective of the non-Muslim. More than half the foundational Islamic doctrine concerns the non-Muslim so it is important that they know something about it.

The book is meant to be educational but in a conversational way focusing on one aspect of Islam at a time. Topics include finance, women, geopolitics, charity, slavery, apostasy, human rights, counter-terrorism, jihad and more, particularly sharia – Islamic law.

Readers will learn the significance of Islamic doctrine and how anyone can quite easily understand and learn to search it for themselves. Each essay ends with a list of ‘Relevant Doctrine’ for those who want to learn more or simply verify information.

The final two essays provide a close look at the all encompassing nature of sharia including Justice, Marriage, Trade, Holding One’s Tongue and Purity - demonstrating how these aspects of sharia often intersect with non-Islamic law and how this can be addressed.
