The eleventh edition of this casebook modernizes and streamlines the materials to focus more effectively on the study of criminal law. The new edition carves out a separate chapter on self-defense, defense of property, and defense of others, while otherwise maintaining the structure of the book from prior editions. Multiple chapters have been reworked to eliminate older cases and notes to make the book more accessible to both teachers and students. The eleventh edition also maintains the unique chapters on drug possession, drug distribution, drunk driving, and texting while driving that were added to the tenth edition.
