The salient features of this enlarged and enriched edition are as follows: Volume I deals with various business legislations. The Contract Act and The Sales of Goods Act have been further improved to make them student-friendly. In Part III, Limited Liability Partnership Act has been supplemented by incorporating changes made in LLP (Amendment) Act, 2021, with commentary and legal provisions explained in detail. In Part IV, the chapter on Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code has been revised by incorporating changes made in the IBC (Amendment) Act, 2021, to remove practical difficulties experienced during the implementation of the law and eliminate loopholes being exploited by unscrupulous elements. The Consumer Protection Act has been totally recast with provisions of The Consumer Protection Act, 2019. The Depositories Act has been totally revamped to make it easily comprehensible to students. Volume II incorporates provisions of The Companies Act, 2013, as amended up to 2020. The Companies Act, 2013, was an overhaul of The Companies Act, 1956 but despite that, it has been amended four times with the essential objective of being business-friendly and imbibing best practices from across the globe on corporate governance and investor protection. Administration of provisions of The Companies Act is carried out through Companies Rules, 2014, which too have been amended from time to time. To get a wholesome understanding of The Companies Act, the text of the book has been interspersed with relevant amended provisions in Companies Rules, 2014. In this revised edition, an attempt has been made to drive away from the dull and monotonous nature of the Act to present the text in a more lucid, business language, to help students comprehend the concepts and easily retain the same from the examination perspective.
