Jungle, Jungle, Little Chindit

Two Chindits bring their decidedly idiosyncratic British sense of humour (and not inconsiderable artistic abilities) to bear on the life of the Long Range Penetration Group. the Chindits. Humour in the best English tradition, based on the ability to make the best of the worst. The book does, in fact, give much information on the science of Long Range Penetration and its practitioners from the point of view of those that have been there and done that, including such secret matters as ambushes, Dakotas, the habits of visiting Generals, of Japs and of the curse/blessing of the ultimate Long Range Penetrationist, the Mule, and those other less-helpful Penetrationists, the mosquito, the tick and the leech. Should definitely be read in conjunction with any (serious) book on The Chindits, eg Merrill's Marauders, or other volumes on Long Range Penetration or even the film Operation Burma, in which Erroll Flynn 'conquered' Burma.
