Anyone can pass the written tasks of the CELPIP exam. Methods, Procedures, and Tips along with the many Email and Survey essay responses make the learning straightforward. Just follow the outlines and you will score CLB 7 or higher.
Reading
The text goes over all 4 Reading Parts of the CELPIP exam and explains the correct and incorrect answer choices. The Reading skills of Skimming, Scanning, Thorough Comprehension are explained (Critical Reading is not necessary for this exam). To Inference and understand the meanings of words by way of context are also explained. The text will allow the test taker to comprehend fully the CELPIP Reading Parts and excel towards achievable CLB scores on the exam.
Listening
The Listening Primer offers a solid overview of the 6 listening parts found on the CELPIP exam. 'How to take notes' effectively will make the first 3 parts of the Listening exam easier; however, knowing the meaning or the 'gist' of what is being said must be practiced before taking the CELPIP exam, especially Parts 4 to 6. To this end, excellent practice websites have been provided.
Speaking
This text offers practical guidance through all 8 Speaking tasks found in the Speaking part of the CELPIP exam. The text introduces each task, provides a Method, explains the criteria the speaking assessors use, offers tips, and grades responses - up to 3 or more examples for each task using the assessor's criteria (by a certified CELPIP instructor/ Level 3). This text easily provides any test-taker with the capability to score well beyond ‘Canadian Language Benchmark 7’ (CLB 7) for each task. There is also an academic word list to encourage vocabulary, and a grammatical review of sentence structure to aid in fluency and coherence. Finally, additional 'Practice Method Cards' have been added, one for each of the 8 Speaking tasks, to the end of this text to ensure test-taker awareness of ‘role play’ - to benefit their performance on the exam.
